Wayside Chapel Christmas Day Luncheon

Event Production & Community Activation

Project Overview

The Wayside Chapel Christmas Day Luncheon is a community-led charitable event, providing a festive meal and safe space for individuals who may otherwise be without support or connection during the holiday period.

Held in Darlinghurst, the event transforms an entire street into a temporary event site, featuring a large-scale marquee dining space, live entertainment, and community activations.

Despite its community focus, the event operates at a significant scale, catering for 700 guests within a fully constructed temporary environment, delivered and removed within a single day.

My Role

Working as Assistant Producer alongside DRAW Productions, I supported the delivery of the event with a focus on on-site logistics, coordination, and live operations.

My role required adaptability and responsiveness to ensure smooth execution across a fast-paced, time-sensitive build and event schedule.

What I Delivered

  • Supported on-site logistics and event coordination across multiple zones

  • Assisted with marquee setup and site infrastructure delivery

  • Coordinated crew, volunteers, and activity areas

  • Supported live event operations and entertainment programming

  • Contributed to bump-out and rapid site reset within same-day timelines

Result

This project highlights the role of event production in community impact, where success is measured not only by execution but by the experience created for attendees.

Delivering a large-scale event within a single-day build, operation, and pack-down window required efficient coordination, teamwork, and adaptability.
